Does your team recognize the need to lead effectively in a world of diverse context?
Fortune 500 CEOs have identified the lack of global leadership skills as a key concern. Today’s and tomorrow’s leaders can easily find themselves dealing with clients from Germany in the morning, India in the afternoon, and China at night. Additionally, one need never reach across oceans to find the need for global skills. Many of our school systems now have students who speak more than 40 languages and whose families come from areas near and far. Our hospitals and health clinics see patients everyday who have vastly different concepts of health and wellbeing than their own. Despite the growing need for global skills, recognizing which skills are needed to lead effectively in diverse contexts and how to develop those skills is less clear. What is clear is that global skills are key to the future success of our businesses, public services, an education systems
This workshop presents frameworks developed through years of experience and research that define the skills needed by global leaders and how they vary in scope and intensity from the skills needed to lead in less diverse settings. Additionally, strategies for building those skills will be presented and adapted to individual contexts. Developing global leadership competence is not a one-time training fix but an ongoing, developmental process.
The intention of this workshop is to clarify the goals and facilitate individualized development strategies. Each participant will take a global skills inventory that will help them identify their own strengths and weaknesses as a global leader. At the conclusion of the workshop each person will schedule an individual coaching session to discuss their own global profile and development plan.
