Program Description
The Empowered by Listening program is a unique, relaxed exploration of the human relationship to language. It is delivered through workshops over time which allows for inquiry to happen between sessions. We believe your network of leaders, managers, teachers, and contractors will appreciate its core nature.
Anyone would benefit from Empowered by Listening. However, it was designed for people who go between languages. Without an examined relationship to language, listening rarely occurs. Through inquiry, this program explores and distinguishes what is happening when people speak and listen. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of both linguistic and ontological happenings that have a significant impact on communication.
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, you will add precision to your work by:
Having a deeper understanding of and relationships to language
Listening for context and easily replicate utterances in the target language.
See yourself as the conduit for communication.
Lead by listening twice as much as you speak.
About the Instructor
Ms. Grussing currently coordinates and manages the area of transformational learning for Dialog One’s interpreter network. Her background is in language education having earned her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction and further study in E.S.L. and Linguistics from the University of St. Thomas. She has worked with all ages of new immigrants in the community and was the recipient of both the Volunteer of the year award from the Minnesota Literacy Council and the Golden Apple Award from Richfield Public Schools. Ms. Grussing has spent the last 15 years exploring communication and empowering others to examine themselves as powerful listeners.
Program Cost
The cost per participant is $650.00 per person. The participant gets fully registered with a 50 % down payment, followed by four (4) easy payments. Corporations pay $6,500, the total price for a minimum of 10 participants.
A promotional price of $425.00 is available for the first 15 students that register for our winter program.
Duration
8-10 sessions of one hour each.
